My stairlift is an invaluable asset; it should enable me to stay in this house for some years to come. I wanted the right stairlift for my staircase with the highest quality installation possible at the most affordable price I could find. After researching the capabilities and reputations of UK suppliers & manufacturers I decided that I wanted a Thyssen stairlift. I completed two online forms with my details and requirements (particularly the fact that my space-saver staircase is unique and unusually steep). Immediately, I began to get phone calls, lots of phone calls … Nearly all the callers challenged my choice, claiming that they had suitable and cheaper alternatives, but none could “talk technical”; they just wanted me to buy what they had. I was looking for a Company that would listen to my requirements and give me a convincing technical response. So I began again, this time making my own calls to SW installers. As soon as I spoke with Chris at Dolphin Stairlifts Cornwall, I realised I was on the right track. When Ben made an initial survey visit, he shared extensive knowledge about stairlifts and installations. I learnt a lot. Later, when Tommy was explaining the suitability of different Thyssen variants for my staircase, I realised that the rail layout I had envisaged could be improved. Tommy quoted both new and reconditioned options for the stairlift; I opted for reconditioned. Everything progressed smoothly.Tommy returned to generate the precision 3D plan that Thyssen needed to make new rail sections to fit the shape of my staircase exactly. When Thyssen delivered them, Ben and Chris came promptly to fit and commission the stairlift. All work was carried out with thoughtful accuracy and tidiness. All furniture was moved back into place and there was no cleaning up for me to do. The end result is far better that I’d hoped for and it wouldn’t have been acheived without such satisfying interaction between installer and customer. Very Professional Service My cottage is old and the stairs are both steep and narrow. Tommy took a lot of time and effort to make sure that the design and function of a stairlift would work perfectly under these conditions. And it did. Not what was expected The stairlift was something I had fought against for so long. When Tommy came to visit it had become a real necessity but still one I didn’t want. With his down to earth approach and honesty I could see how the lift could improve my life. The estimated time for delivery was spot on and the two fitters, Ben and Chris, were simply brilliant. We were told the fitting would take 4 hours and that was exactly correct. The place was left clean and tidy and the explanations were excellent. Excellent fit! So I’m a tall oversized chap with an awkward dogleg in the staircase making a good fit very difficult. Eventually a choice of 1 stairlift from Platinum was measured for allowing me a couple of inches head, leg and shoulder space along with perfect height to get on and off, plus it parks out the way. Brilliant job fitting, but the measuring especially important. Couldn’t fault either.
